A friend of mine took her four-year-old daughter to a baptismal service at her church. Later that night, her daughter took all of her dolls into the bathtub with her and held her own "baptism."
As she dunked each doll under the water, she repeated, "Now I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and hold your nose."

Received from DOC'S DAILY CHUCKLE.

Today is a "hold your nose" day...God Bless!

Bogus E-Mail

Straight from the IRS hotline:

The IRS has seen several variations of a refund-related bogus e-mail which falsely claims to come from the IRS, tells the recipient that he or she is eligible for a tax refund for a specific amount, and instructs the recipient to click on a link in the e-mail to access a refund claim form. The form asks the recipient to enter personal information that the scamsters can then use to access the e-mail recipient’s bank or credit card account.

Mega Church Appeal

According to an interview with co-authors Scott Thumma and Dave Travis, as viewed in the following link:

Mega Churches bring the message of the gospel and the truth of Christianity to a contemporary society. Mega churches have a strong appeal to the modern American people, not only thru the preaching sermons with modern examples, but by the music, style of ministry and mission activities of these large churches.

Scott Thumma and Dave Travis are the co-authors of the new book Beyond Megachurch Myths.

The Season for Bearing Fruit - (1 of 4)

We are in a time when everything is about “me” and how can I get what I want at the expense of others? I wonder what it would be like if we could really see the fruit in others. Some of you may be wondering what fruit (i.e. grape, orange or banana). No not that fruit, but the Fruit of the Spirit according to Galatians 5:22-23, which states:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” KJV

Forgiveness Defined

This morning I attended the worship services of Willow Creek Community Church. Teaching Pastor Mike Breaux is in a teaching series titled Coming up to Breathe. This morning the topic primarily centered on forgiveness and was titled "Amend my Relationships".

Breaux defined forgiveness in several ways, but here's one that caught my attention:

Forgiveness - Giving up your right to get even.

Often our personal world gets unbalanced and we attempt to "rebalance" and "recenter".

Amending relationships are imperative to spiritual health.
